When your life is a beautiful chaos....

I guess to call yourself a writer, you need to write!!

I haven't been doing that lately. My life has been a bit of a chaos, my beautiful chaos as I like to call it, and I can't find the time to do the things I like.

I guess this is a learning process as well as it is a crucial part of growing up.

Sometimes we need to do things we have to, which keeps the things we want to on the back pedal.

I am working hard and trying my best to put things in order so I can get back to the things I want  to.

That being said, I am scared that when I decide to get back to writing,
all the words in my heart and head (The recipe for my writing)
will have evaporated/dried up/become extinct.

To prevent that from happening, I have vowed to find the time to write as much as I can about anything and everything. Be it a few sentences or more.

Therefore, my posts may not be as long or as often as I'd like but I promise they will pop up every now and then.

Wish me luck and always stay true to yourself xx!!

For lack of a better title, Let's just call this one 'Passion Fruit'

Hello there Internet friends, I hope ya'll are having a good week.

I apologise for not uploading a Motivational Monday post this week. I have been having Internet problems. But things are back to normal now. In the mean time, if you haven't read the previous ones you can check out these motivational monday posts from the last two weeks.

It is so much easier to "Just be Yourself", Trust me.

Of Maya Angelou and Mukhtar Mai

So I was going through my creative writing notes this morning when I stumbled across the writ-up below. I just thought it was interesting and slighty humorous, so I'm sharing it with ya'll. I can't vouch for my state of mind when I wrote this or why I chose this topic, but then again, can I really explain why I do half the things I do? No.
Anyways this was a random exercise in class so make of it what you will :) enjoy!!!

My write-up is about Passion Fruit.
yup!!
you read it right, passion fruit!!!

PASSION FRUIT

It' surface is smooth and hard like a perfect rock by the sea.
You would expect and wonder at what is hidden underneath.
Blunt knives as hard as they try do not penetrate it.
You need a sharp knife, as sharp as can be, to get to the surprise laid within.

But lo and behold, a mushy bed of slimy seeds awaits you,
that makes your skin crawl and your insides cringe.
But what will baffle you is the sweet oh sweet taste that it brings.
Now who would have thought such ugliness had a hidden beauty it seems.

Hope the rest of your week is awesome. Two more days till friday ;) :)

Nights like this...

Writing, you might not be my first love nor will you be my last love
but I am assured that you will be my eternal love....

It is nights like this I love,
when my heart shines like the
brightest moon on a dark summery night.
I get flutters just at the thought
of the possibilities that lies ahead of me.

My fingers itch for the familiar dance it does
tapping along the lines of my worn out keyboard,
working in tune with my heart and mind,
which eagerly awaits to share its tales
just like a kid showing his favourite toy.

It is nights like this I love,
when the silent night wraps its hands around me
soothing me with tunes of serenity,
like the chipper of the crickets just outside my window
or the distant snores of my brother's slumber.

It is nights like this I love and wish for,
when my heart is weightless and free.
My own special kind of wonderland
away from all the adversity.
With nights like this, I dread sunrise
But alas it comes knocking every single time.

KPop Academy Week 8 Assignment: Sijo Poem

We were given a few options for this assignment, I chose to write a Sijo Poem.

I dedicate this poem to all those who lost their lives in the recent tragic accident in South Korea.

Quotes on Destiny from a High-Schooler.

I was having my own special kind of throwback Thursday by going through some old journals from high school and I found this really interesting quotes on Destiny (don't ask what a high-schooler was doing thinking serious shit like this, I have no idea). My first instinct was to share it with you guys cos you know we're now like kinda, sorta, friends in my head ☺

I am Other

Today's post was inspired by two things that occurred in the past few days.

A few days back I was looking through my old Journal from when I was 19 (feels like yesterday, I still cannot believe I am 21), when I found this little writeup that held so much meaning to me. It said a lot about me and my life in just a few short sentences.

The Great Madiba - Omkhulu Madiba

O Madiba, the fervent Rolihlahla
you opened the doors
of freedom and equality
in uMzantsi Afrika.
Dearly referred to as Tata,
you are a father to us all

Aaah! Dalibhunga
Indeed you are convener of the dialogue
You brought us all together
and taught us a language,
of love and hope

O Madiba, the pride of Africa
your words shall be a guiding light for all of eternity
We shall sing your praises to the next generation
and the next, passing on your torch of inspiration
Khulu Mandela, Ndiyabulela.
